General Motors has fired three UAW workers at Flint Assembly Plant in Michigan for threats of violence during the strike as well as acts of violence.

GM said UAW workers will resume work Monday, but at some pickup production plants, the automaker is looking for volunteers to start sooner.

The UAW said Friday that its membership ratified a new four-year contract with General Motors bringing a six-week strike to a close.

The UAW National GM Council decided Thursday to leave workers on strike until a ratification vote is complete. The vote is expected to start Saturday.

The proposed tentative agreement between GM and UAW includes the creation and retention of 9,000 jobs, wage hikes; keeping Detroit-Hamtramck open.

GM’s executives have until Thursday to draft a provisional plan that UAW leaders will accept and turn into a tentative agreement for its members.

Ford and FCA workers pay close attention to GM-UAW talks knowing they could be next. They also volunteer to join the picket line, donate goods.

UAW and General Motors bargainers were at it until about 3 a.m. Thursday before recessing and resuming talks midmorning.

The UAW’s lead negotiator with GM says the negotiations still need to address wages, job security and pension issues.
