Impeachment won’t rein in Trump. But it will end the normalcy fantasy and force elected Republicans to place their sacred honor behind his high crimes.

We have to decide if we’re willing to go on with a presidentwho was elected with Russian help and tried 10 times to obstruct a probe into that help.

But the president will need more than top-notch political machinery to repeat in a state he barely won in 2016.

Most Democrats, including me, would gleefully support Biden over Trump or Pence. Yet it would be delusional to ignorethe brutal undertow facing him.

Expect more impeachable acts, more Republican enabling and, thanks to a Democratic House majority, more evidence of Trump administration corruption.

If you don’t want to reward Trump, vote for Democrats and do it soon. The alternative is a future of health care rollbacks and corruption eruptions.
